I am personally convinced that as business owners and leaders we have a unique privilege, opportunity and responsibility to use our platform to positively impact the people we connect with. This happens when we aspire to greatness.
Like you, I know the desire to make a difference is strong. But sometimes these desires aren’t enough.
The challenges and complexities of today scream for our attention. We have pressures from clients, staff and family, and we are regularly pulled in different directions.
But often the biggest pressure we have comes from within.
I know what it’s like to struggle with clarity around your purpose and to have fears and doubts as to whether you have what it takes to be truly great.
I spent the first 10 years of my career as a successful relationship banker.
I experienced growth and success in a fast-paced, global environment. For 20 years, I spent my ‘spare’ hours (pretty much every weeknight and weekends!) developing and leading hundreds of young adult volunteers in my local church university ministry. I thought I was operating in my sweet spot as I was able to combine the disciplines and cutting-edge strategies of the corporate world with the joy of working directly with young people to help them flourish and fulfil their potential. The experience I gained with leading, motivating and developing volunteer millennials was invaluable.
However, there was still frustration and dissatisfaction in my life.
Outwardly, I was a committed manager and a successful leader. I found myself struggling with clarifying my purpose, and ingrained habits and thought patterns I couldn’t break through no matter how hard I tried.
In our leadership journey, I believe everyone experiences a breakdown event (or possibly more) – whether it’s losing your job, burning out, going through a divorce or experiencing a major health issue. For me, everything ‘fell apart’ when I became a mother. I experienced major anxiety and PND.
Still oblivious to why I was feeling stuck, I stumbled upon the transformative power of coaching.
Only then did I realise I needed to face a whole raft of experiences that I had buried away in denial – the biggest one being my troubled relationship with my mother and her subsequent death from cancer when I was 12 years old.
There’s no such thing as a silver bullet, but this came pretty close. I had tried many different courses, reading books, attending seminars, and talking to various mentors.
Coaching was the first time that I had been given a space to just be me.
No judgement, no expectations, no advice. Just an opportunity to be heard, and to come face to face with who I really was, and then to believe who I could become. It was challenging, eye-opening and inspiring. And it was in this place that the seed to aspire to greatness was planted.
I gave myself permission to embrace my authentic (and imperfect) self. I understood my purpose.
This is how LUCID LEADERSHIP was born. I committed to sharing the transformative power of coaching so that people like yourself, could breakthrough your self-limiting barriers and become great leaders.
I studied Leadership Coaching and became a Certified Coach with the International Coaching Federation. I developed a range of coaching programs that integrates a solid framework for inner transformation and conscious leadership practices, with my knowledge and experiences over 15 years in leading individuals and teams.
Today my heart is to create a safe and empowering space for your personal transformation and the people you lead and impact.
When you know and own who you are, you can access and harness your unique strengths and gifts that will empower and serve this world.
I am a big picture thinker, but also a pragmatist at heart.
I love understanding issues systemically and creating frameworks and tools to break down complex goals into smaller workable solutions that enable you to take focused action – one step at a time.
As an ACC credentialed coach with the International Coaching Federation I adhere to strict ethical standards in my coaching, and am committed to ongoing self-development (I thrive on it), to ensure you are receiving the highest quality of coaching and best-practice leadership tools and frameworks.
